OnePlus will bring Android 13 to these smartphones

Over the last few months, Android 13 has created so much buzz around the global market, although it is in the beta program, and the stable version is yet to come. The Beta 4 is already being completed, and now we can expect the stable in the coming few days.

Android 13 is a successor of Android 12, released in 2021. It comes with many new features like notification permission, themed app icons, per-app language support, Redefined colour with HDR video.

Since then, OnePlus also started improving and implementing things according to Android 13 for its OxygenOS. Currently, many devices are running on OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. Like 9 series, Nord series, 8 series etc.

As well, there are multiple other improvements across the system. Starting with the always-on display, you’ll be able to integrate both Spotify and Bitmoji into it. It makes information much more easily accessible, while still retaining the minimal look and feel that an always-on display should offer.

But as always, the big question here is when it’s actually going to be released for smartphones. We know Pixels will be updated first, and Samsung is likely not going to be too far behind if recent patterns hold up.

OnePlus, though, has been a bit more hit or miss with major Android updates over the past few years. With Android 13, OnePlus is promising updates for 15 different devices.

There are some notable omissions from the list, including the OnePlus Nord N20. That phone launched in April 2022, but it seems to already be on the chopping block for major updates, despite the fact that the phone hasn’t even had an upgrade to Android 12 yet.

Still, it’s nice to see OnePlus is already committing to these upgrades, and we hope they’ll arrive in a somewhat timely manner – hopefully with fewer bugs this time around too.

If you’re wondering when OxygenOS 13 will make its way to your device, it’ll depend on a few factors. The OnePlus 10 Pro will be the first device to get it, with the company only stating that it’s coming “soon”.
